For bills of quantities and tender preparation we use Causeway Estimating, which is designed to enhance bidding and tendering processes. It allows us to –

• Produce precise takeoffs and measurements by using our CAD/BIM Measure tool
• Evaluate bids from multiple suppliers and choose the best one for the project.

We will provide you with a full analytical and unique breakdown of labour rates, material, plant and preliminary costs, which is provided in excel format for you to submit to your client.  For a more professional look, we can even add your company logo and company information.

SITEWORKS APPLICATION

Siteworks is a software that we can use to easily view points of interest with their location shown on a drawing. By assigning pins to a drawing, not only can it show the area of work, but we can also track progress of that area through a library system that contains pictures of the work over a period of time. 

The software’s main feature is that it can be a collaborative space. Each pin has a range of features including 

• The assignment of different trades to a section 

• Flagging pins to show areas of priority 

• Different stages (like a folder system) to keep reports organised 

• Descriptions for each pin to explain details if not clear in picture 

With a simple UI, it can be understood by all parties involved, enabling us to efficiently communicate the information with contractors and clients. Additionally, the software is an app on either a phone or tablet, not only allowing us to update the report as we carry out our site visit but also add and remove images even when off site. 

Microsoft Project

Microsoft Project is project management software that we use to create schedules, project plans, manage resources and keep track of time.  It has features such as Gantt Charts, Kanban boards and project calendars for project management professionals.

It helps us to project manage our work by using its key features –

• Communication & Collaboration – Allows our team to work together on projects
• Co-authoring – Our team members can work together to edit and update task lists and schedules.
• Reporting – Pre-built reports that can track progress, resources, programs and portfolios

• Timesheets – Collect project and non-project time for payroll and invoicing
• Resource Management – Manage resources by requesting and assigning tasks.

Excel

Finally, we use Microsoft Excel, the most dynamic spreadsheet application which allows us to arrange and organise data and to conduct financial analysis.
